This module will integrate a range of awareness and competences to practice the roles of health promoter, health provider and health networker within a community development context.
It seeks to develop sklls and competences for the learner to be able to:

Assist in planning advocacy campaigns to support primary health care initiatives.

Assist in facilitating and implementing primary health care projects within the community.
The Department of Health is leading the implementation of a multi-professional team-based approach to health care delivery, where each member of the team has a defined role to ensure that there is no duplication and overlapping of functions. This is where the Community Health Worker works as a member of the multi disciplinary team and has to assist in the achievement of Primary Healt h Care objectives as an Auxillary Nurse.

This Qualification is for any individual who is, or wishes to be, involved in Ancillary Health Care services. A learner who has achieved this qualification will integrate a range of awareness and competences to practice the roles of health promoter, health provider and health networker within a community development context.
Learners working towards this Qualification will find that the acquisition of competence in the Unit Standards, which make up the Qualification, will add value to their work performance. This Qualification is intended to enhance the provision of entry-level service within the field of health care within all sectors.

National CertificateL Victim Empowerment and Support

This is an entry-level Qualification within a career pathway for Victim Empowerment to NQF level 4. The qualifying learner will apply an understanding of the Victim Empowerment sector to empower him/herself and the community. The acquisition of the related skills in Human and Social Studies will increase the pool of competent entry-level human resources for the sector. The core knowledge, skills and attitudes of this Qualification for the Victim Empowerment workplace is aimed at both social and economic benefits for the learner.

National Certificate: Theology and Ministry

The purpose of this Qualification is to recognise those who have the required competence to serve as lay and ordained leaders in Christian communities or community organisations and society through enabling them to obtain a nationally registered and recognised Qualification.
A further purpose of this Qualification is to produce life-long theological learners who are equipped to raise and debate current issues in an African context. This purpose seeks to transform persons, churches and society dealing with power issues such as gender, social economic disparity, disability and the environment from a Christian perspective.
